Hines Ward Voted Dirtiest Player by his Fellow Players
NFL Players Don't Like that Hines Ward Plays Football Correctly, Vote Him Dirtiest Player
NFL players voted, and they've put Hines Ward at the top of the list for dirtiest player, say WHAT?!  I understand a lot of players don't like his hard hitting, but he does play the way football is supposed to be played.  Albert Haynesworth and Joey Porter tied for second and Roy Williams of the Bengals came in third.  My question is how are people that shoot their mouth off and start crap every chance they get (Porter) and people who step on your face with steel spikes (Haynesworth) below a guy like Ward who does his job and then some?  Call me biased if you will, but I can't see how a player with any brains could possibly say Hines Ward is the dirtiest player in the NFL.

I bet the same people that voted for Hines Ward as the dirtiest player would also love to have him on there team.  I know I'd take Ward on the Rams in a heartbeat

What are the criteria?  I guess being too tough for his position and making defensive players look soft is too much for the majority to bare.

It is the same reason why for years Bruce Bowen in the NBA was talked about as a dirty player. Yes he may push the limits of the rules somtimes but they play hard and the way it should be played. So if that makes them dirty players so be it..better to play that way then dont block for Ward or play good defence for Bowen.

I agree with the article saying Hines plays the way football is supposed to be played. Anymore MOST of these football players are panzies. I mean if you're afraid to get hurt or you don't want to be hit then perhaps the game isn't for you. I would LOVE to see Lambert and Tatum in this watered down version of the NFL they'd KILL someone, or they'd be broke due to all the fines LOL

WOW...Albert Haynesworth is clearly the winner...Hines is tough and plays dirty for a wr because he actually blocks

Let me get this right NFL players have ranked a WIDE RECEIVER  as the dirtiest player, over anyone else in the league. HA HA HA HA HA HA  sorry just had to get that out, all I have to say is maybe they need to step it up like Hines does. Maybe this is a cause of jealousy cause they are not able to go all 60 minutes playing the game the way its suppose to be played. Whatever the case maybe this is the NFL and maybe some players need to take notes from Hines, just cause the ball is not coming your way doesn't mean you have to run towards the sideline to you don't get hit BLOCK someone. I would be honored if I was Hine's he has everyone from LB's to Safety's saying he hits to hard HA HA HA sorry again.

This isn't the first time he has been voted dirtiest player by NFL players. It's funny though. He's never penalized for personal fouls. He runs routes over the middle and has been hit as hard as he hits other players. Including linebackers who are bigger than he is. All the votes probably came from defenders who hate that they have to keep their head on a swivel when they play against him. If I was Ward I would be proud that I instill so much fear into the defensive players of the NFL. Terrel Suggs came out last year and said publicly that the Ravens defense looks to "hurt" Ward. They have been trying for years and Ward tends to get the best of them. He's laid out Bart Scott and Ed Reed. Look out NFL defenses players on the other side of the ball are allowed to hit too.

Hines is so dirty, have you seen this?

If you don't think it's dirty ask Keith Rivers how a helmet to his jaw felt.

You have to be kidding me there is no rule that says you can't block as a wide receiver. If you can't take the heat stay out of the NFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can think of a LOT of players dirtier than Ward. One of them is even a Steeler.

I'm pretty sure it isn't going to bother Hines Ward. He'll probaly just smile and a little harder the next time he lays a defender on there back.

LMAO how is Troy Polamalu dirty?? Hines Ward isn't even dirty that hit he put on Rivers was a legitimate hit. You don't like the Steelers that fine but don't sit here and bash great players because you don't like them and the team. These cupcakes can't handle the hits in the NFL then they should retire, the NFL anymore has become a watered down version of its self.

Just keep hating the Steelers it makes us that much stronger. But like Scott said nobody is going to say they wouldn't want Hines or Troy on there team. Iam detecting a little jealousy.

Agreed...I don't see Polamalu as being dirty at all either, nor do I see Ward as dirty. I would have given you a "respect" but I don't have any more to give today...I'll try to remember to come back tomorrow ;)

Blocking is 100% acceptable, as a matter of fact, I love wide receivers can block; what is not acceptable are dirty plays, like hitting someone in the jaw with the top of your helmet.

In this case "dirty" equals anger from defensive players because Hines Ward has hit them with nice down-field blocks.  This should be worn as a badge of honor.

How about the fact that Rivers wasn't wearing a mouthpiece? Ward didn't hit him in the jaw with his helmet either. It's a rough sport and when played at full speed it can be hard to hit someone exactly where you are planning on it. Especially when both players are running full speed. Ward could've went low and ended his career.

To me it seems like they are voting Hines as dirty because he does things that other WRs don't do like block.

LOL ...He plays for the Steelers....So why are you in such disbelieve? Now he is in the  Mean Joe Green club.Maybe he will be know for being a great player as well as a hell raiser on the field....It's not that bad of a title...
