How the Hanley Ramirez trade affected the Red Sox and their World Series run
Playing the What If game: What if the Red Sox never made the Hanley Ramirez-Josh Beckett deal?
The trade that sent Hanley Ramirez to the Marlins for Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell had a huge impact on the Red Sox, but was made during the few weeks that Theo Epstein basically took a break from the Red Sox.

What if Theo had never left, and the trade never happened?

Would the Sox have won the 2007 World Series?
Would Hanley Ramirez be the solution to their current shortstop problem?
Would Anibal Sanchez, Clay Buchholz and Michael Bowden have a spot in their crowded rotation?
Would they have gotten rid of Manny Ramirez?
Would they have signed Mark Teixeira?

It's interesting to see how much one trade can transform the landscape of the entire league.

Well, he'd probably get the attention he actually deserves.

If they didn't made that trade, my beloved Indians would've been World Series Champions!!!
