The first big trade before the deadline has transpired, with the St. Louis Cardinals sending Colby Rasmus north of the border and Edwin Jackson heading to St. Louis in a three-way deal.  The Cardinals also receive relief pitchers Octavio Dotel and Mark Rzepczynski and oufielder Corey Patterson.  The Jays receive pitchers Brian Tallett and PJ Walters from the Cardinals and utility player Mark Teahan from the White Sox.  Chicago receives lefty specialist Trevor Miller from the Cardinals and pitchers Jason Frasor and Zach Stewart from the Blue Jays.
