Newsday writer Wallace Matthews attempts to make the case that if the Yankees lose this year's ALCS to the Angels, it's their worst collapse in postseason history.
I'm not sure if I'm buying that... especially since their 2004 collapse was THE worst collapse in the history of postseasons in ANY sport.
However, Matthews makes the valid point that the Angels aren't as good as the Red Sox team that came back from down 3-0 to beat the Yankees, and this year's Yankees are much better than the '04 version.
I can't really argue with that, but there's still a huge difference between being up 3-0 and being up 3-1. Huge.
