LW Ilya Kovalchuk was traded to the New Jersey Devils, along with D Anssi Salmela for F Niclas Bergfors, D Johnny Oduya, prospect Patrice Cormier, and New Jersey's first round pick in the 2010 NHL Draft. Both teams also swapped 2nd round picks. This gives the Devils a legitimate scoring threat, something they have been missing this season.
