If there is any sense to be made as to what is going on at Nebraska, click the link. Callahan may not be a problem at all, and I'm sure we all agree that Cosgrove will never improve. But the biggest issue is with the players. There is mass talent and athletic ability here. There is a lack of attitude! It's easy to feel good about Tom being back in the system. With a coaching staff that hasn't lived the tradition we call Nebraska, doesn't understand the tradition and can't explain the tradition, we are doomed.
Tom has lived it (he is it), and can explain it. He will probably explain it this week to the team (as if his presence isn't enough) and there is a possibility that we may see a winning Husker team this weekend. (I already bet a buddy we would blow out A&M). I may be a little too exited, but I at least now have hope.
This is part of the link:
"Former Doane coach and now with Amercan Electricity Tommie Frazier, who once worked in fund-raising for Steve Pederson, in a phone interview:
"Tom Osborne will be doing the right things from the start. From the point of honesty, integrity and openess, I think Tom will make a difference immediately.
"Steve Pederson tried to establish himself and alienated others. When you see the people who have left the program and the donors who have abandoned the program, that says a lot.
"Working for Steve, there were tough days and good games. I never felt comfortable, like where he was coming from, where he was in support of what I was doing or what anybody was doing.
"It’s not time to start talking about a new coach now.
"Steve missed the boat with 500 other players who will say they did not feel the doors were open. It bothered us to see that happen and know that we were not asked to help.""
