Interesting take on the A-Rod Contract Situation

Ken Tremendous from FJM has a very interesting response to Michael Ventre's piece on msnbc.com.
I agree with FJM on this one. I'm sure you've heard it from me before, but I believe Yankees fans will miss Alex Rodriguez if he leaves, whether they want to admit it or not. But the key in the contract negotiations comes down to WHO is paying A-Rod, and not really how much, per se.
Rodriguez could make $32M per in '08 and '09, and his agent is asking for $35M. Not only is that a little ridiculous, the Yankees would have to pay the full amount if they let him opt out of his current contract, and it would let Tom Hicks and the Rangers off the hook.
It's a great perspective on one of the most interesting financial situations in all of baseball.
