Irish FA Request Replay from FIFA

The Football Association of Ireland has requested that the controversial match against France be replayed from the start.

Unfortunately, this request has to go to FIFA, the governing body of world soccer, which makes the US Congress look like the pinnacle of quick action and logical thinking.

Fair Disclosure: I'm Irish by heritage, and follow the Irish National Team. I'd love nothing more (besides watching the US win the Cup) than to see France crash and burn next summer. And I hope this appeal, somehow, finds a receptive ear. But I'm not counting on it.

Given Henry's post-match comments (now there's a hell of a time to be honest, isn't it, Thierry), and the fact that everyone around the world has seen the replay hundreds of times, FIFA and soccer in general can't afford to let this happen again. I'm still not necessarily a fan of instant replay, but starting to warm up to the idea more than, say, 24 hours ago.

What do you guys think?
