Is it possible that Albert Pujols could be underrated?
by Pat
8/7/08

I never thought it could be possible, since the guy is so incredibly good, and it should be plain for all to see... but according to this survey of GM's, it just might be the case.

If you are looking to build a team to win now or for the next 5 years, there is no reason why Albert Pujols shouldnt be #1 on everybody's list.  I dont think he is underrated, but I do think he is underappreciated for the other things he does.....clutch and situational hitting, defense, base-running.  Pujols is arguably the best player in baseball and one who has consistently put up ungodly numbers in his first 8 years that are better then some of baseball's greatest players ever.  If he stays healthy, he could be the guy that people look back on 50 or 60 years from now and compare to as one of baseballs best players ever, like they did with the Babe Ruth's and Lou Gehrig's of the world.
