It's been a long, frustrating road, but for the first time since 2002, the IndyCar Series has a title sponsor: clothing company Izod. The deal will be officially announced Thursday. Izod currently has a personal sponsorship contract with Ryan Hunter-Reay, and was known for playing the same commercial over and over again during races ("everything's going be alright...").
The deal is believed to be for $10 million a year for 5 years, and yes, the series will be now be called the Izod IndyCar Series.
I just hope there are new commercials now.
