Jay Cutler's Honeymoon In The Windy City Appears To Be Over
When the Chicago Bears traded for Jay Cutler this past April, the entire city celebrated thinking we'd finally found the franchise quarterback the team had been lacking since the Sid Luckman days.  Fast forward to week 10 of the NFL slate, and it appears that this once promising relationship is on the rocks.  Is it too soon to declare this a disaster?  Or should we revisit the subject after the Bears upgrade the offensive line an acquire a number one receiver?

I'm not sure what a  honeymoon in football would be, but Chicago is NOWHERE NEAR done with Cutler. Once Jerry Angelo is fired (preferably) or acquires a true #1 receiver, things should turn around. Obviously the number one concern is getting a real offensive line (heck watching St. Clair's turkey errors for the Browns last night actually make me miss him).

On a sidenote, what is it gonna take to get rid of Ron Turner? Worst offensive coordinator in the league, fire that donkey already. Heck fire Lovie and pick up Mike Shanahan while ur at it.

The problem with the current regime is that the McCaskey's are notoriously cheap.  Angelo and Smith have something like a combined 6 years left on their deals.  The earliest I could see them getting fired is after next season.

As for Ron Turner, I doubt Lovie will show him the door because he is too loyal....outside of Ron Rivera of course.  He couldn't co-exist with a guy that may be a better defensive coach than him.  If Turner does get the axe, an Idea I've seen floated around is hiring Charlie Weis to come on as OC so long as the Irish fire him.  I for  one would be all for it.  He's proven he's a great OC and can mold quarterbacks with the best of them.

Yeah I have heard that the McCaskey's are very cheap as well. They would rather keep the coaches than take the financial hit and admit they were wrong, even though that would make more sense.
Edit- I mean nothing is working for the Bears, cmon now just make the necessary changes.

The worst part about this season is knowing we can't address any of our needs in the first two rounds.  I know Angelo has struck gold with some players in the later rounds, but it's best not to rely on that.  Heck, the two 3rd rounds picks from last year's draft haven't even dressed yet to my knowledge.

Hello, dave "Dumbstadt, Dick "Moron here are 2 coaches that couldn't coach a "diaper derby" let alone a football team of profesionals. LOVIE SMITH is next and the McCaskeys are gonna keep them around for the simple fact that loosing money over STUPID contracts they signed was just showing us the lack of brain matter and damaged cells within thier cranium. (HEAD) If the seats at soldier field are empty next year, it just might prove a point to the McCaskey's......if your gonna pay $300.00 for a ticket, you want to see a win, or at least a good game at MINIMUM. *******The talent exists on the field, the failure exists in the brain function of the McCasky's, the predictability of Lovie Smith, and a GM who is worthless. Sounds like a point needs to be made, and Chicago Bear fans have the ability to do it. DON'T BUY TICKETS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON OR NEXT SEASON FOR YOU SEASON TICKET HOLDERS. Empty pockets really hurt.!!!!!!!! :-(

"the McCaskey's are notoriously cheap" true and guess what Charlie Weis is notoriously expensive, maybe we could get Major Applewhite off Mack Brown's staff or Herb Hand from Tulsa, great offensive minds, how about Steve Fairchild from CSU they might be more affordable options.

Again I bear no ill will toward the Bears and Bears fans, but please forgive this bitter Broncos fan for being giddy see Captain Bad Haircut fail. I just can't help myself.

Also I know that Jay is better than this, that he does not have a lot of weapons, and his handicapped by 1/2 of Turner tyranny that is menacing the state of Illinois right now.

Bears need a bona fide #1 WR, and an OC to replace Ron Turner. Just saying.

Hey now, Captain Neckbeard isn't exactly the model for a good haircut.

The Bears have far more problems than just QB.  Every position needs upgrades.  The Bears can't cover, tackling is suspect, can't rush the passer, can't block, can't run, and can't score in the red zone, receivers need to be upgraded and Devin Hester needs to be a return man.  Ron Turner needs to go.  Jerry Angelo has never had a good number one pick.  He just can't draft.... no wonder he traded all 1st and 2nd round picks next year.  There will be no chance for him to F it up.  As a Bears fan, I see no quick fix.

Yeah, but Kyle can (and has) shaved the neck beard.  Jay will always be a whiny baby that makes bad decisions on and off the field (you should hear all the stories from bars in Lower Downtown Denver that feature a drunk-off-his-hiney Type 1 diabetic named Jay Cutler).  I was, and remain, glad to see Cutler somewhere else.

Unfortunately, I can't disagree with anything you said.  Tommie Harris was a big reason the Bears made it to the Superbowl, but he's digressed too much to be considered a great pick.  We need someone who knows how to draft in the early rounds because that's where you get the majority of your playmakers.

I've already seen him in Chicago enjoying the 'night life.'  I wasn't dogging out Orton and wish no ill will towards him.  I was simply saying Orton isn't exactly a guy you'd see on the cover of GQ because of his style.

Good stuff, John.  I think Jay just needs to play better and the rest will take care of itself.  I don't know what to say to the Kyle Orton people, besides... "don't be shocked when the Broncos end up 8-8."  The Bears need better players and Jay needs to stop forcing the ball into bad receivers.

I can relate to you, Bear fans! Incompetence in the front office brought the Rams down to the level they are now trying to turn around from.  So frustrating!

I hear that.  If Kyle ever gets a "fashion"-type endorsement deal, it will be with Supercuts or Great Clips, and even they might be hesitant to sign him.  He has the worst hair of any Bronco since Ed McAffrey.
