Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson Fail Inspection @ Sonoma

Well, it looks like NASCAR doesn't have a biased for Hendricks Motorsports after all.  Imagine that!

The #24 & the #48 will not get to practice or qualify & must start from the back of the field in the race this weekend!!!

Pretty much kills the chances for a win at a road course.....couldn't of happened at a worse track.  Coming through the entire field on a road course is just unheard of.  A Top 10 finish would be quite an accomplishment.  Those NASCAR officials are tough & pushing the limit of what you can & can't do usually gets you in trouble.  They have stated that they will check the Car of Tomorrow even more closely to ensure all the teams start on equal footing.

Only time will tell if Suspensions of crew chiefs will be handed out & if pts. will be deducted.

Well, looks like I'm losing points on a few polls, unless Jeff can pull of the miracle.

Early next week, they're certain to be hit with severe points penalties, while their respective crew chiefs are saddled with large fines and suspensions.*

Interestingly enough its been reported that JG and JJ failed inspection not due to anything that was tangibly wrong, just that NASCAR didn't like the way the car looked.  Once again Chad Knaus found a loophole in the rule book and NASCAR doesn't like it.  Oh well.

What are you talking about? There was a 10-inch piece of front fender on each of their cars had been modified illegally. Illegally.... That has nothing to do with NASCAR liking the looks of the car.

It fit the template... there was nothing illegal about that car.  The rule NASCAR has is that you can not modify a certified part of the COT.  No certified part of the car was modified.  The part of the car modified isn't considered certified.  They broke no rule.
