Gordon dominated the race, and those fans that threw stuff should be ashamed of themselves. Gordon rocks!!!

Nobody has any right to complain about the redneck reputation of NASCAR if their fans are going to pelt the winning car with beer cans.

Agreed that was a disgrace.  Not only that but they disrespected the driver that they cheer for by continuing to take part in that idiocy.

Everytime Gordon wins at Talladega he gets pelted with beer cans.  It's kinda a tradition there.

It's not right to do it, but no race should ever end under caution.

They didn't do it because the race finished under a caution - they did it because Jeff Gordon, Dale Sr. & Jr.'s so-called "nemesis", won.  Buncha dumb rednecks.

I heard that the director of operations at Talladega warned the fans before the race that if they threw anything onto the track they would be arrested, and some of the morons did it anyway, and from what I heard many arrests were made.

I'm sure the winner being Jeffy played a role, but many times when a finish is caution I notice fans throw stuff.

If Jr or Tony won under caution there wouldn't be any beer cans on the track though.  It was pretty much all because of JG, especially because he passed Earnhardt on the wins list on what would have been Earnhardt's 56th birthday.

They just hate JG because he was the first non-redneck to enter the sport.

Its not acceptable at any time to throw things on the playing field unless its something that wont do much damage, like toilet paper
