Jets players confirm what we've all known for a while, now. Brett Favre is a huge toolbag.
20
Jets players are unhappy with Favre, and are tired of his constant turnovers. Apparently, they'd much rather have a real QB, instead of just an "arm punter".

Living in Madison Wisconsin, Favre was elevated to a God like status and every year he pulled his annual "Will he return-won't he return" crap. It was like holding the entire state and all his fans hostage, just to keep him in the media and talked about. The greatest thing to happen to Green Bay was for those in power there to just say enough is enough and sent him on his way. Which shocked the heck out of the guy because he had always been welcomed back. But now it has come out in New York that his first year he pulled the "I am the God of football and everyone needs to bow before me and give me what I want-crap" just as he did in here. BUT this time he is finding that they have caught onto his crap early on and don't want to put up with it. I hope that the Jets have the mind set to let Farve GO. Because otherwise he will be ding his "I might come back, I will come back, I think I will retire, I think I want to play one more year" crap on them and why...it just causes confusion, friction and resentment with the other stable players. He showed this season he should have stayed retired while ontop of his game- instead he is going to be known as a failure and a joke. BUT he created this mess himself so he has no one to blame but Brett Farve!!!!!!!!!

The Thomas Jones comments are damning for Brett Favre.  I don't know what persona Jones has taken on in New York, but with the Bears he was among the most respected team leaders.  He never missed a practice, team meeting, or summer weightlifting session.  I was shocked to see him say those things about Favre because that's not the way Thomas Jones normally reacts to teammates.

Must be some truth behind all this press - thanks for filling me in on Jones - didn't know that much about him.

I've always thought Favre was overrated.Call me bitter but I am still pissed that he had to be named CO MVP with my all time favorite athlete Barry Sanders in 1997.
Had to add.Check those stats in 1997 for Favre and consider the success the Pack had already with him. Then compare Sanders rushing for 2,053 yards and gaining a playoff berth for the dreadful Lions in the last game of the season against the Jets and see which merits the vote.
Not to mention Barry started off with just 53 yards in his first 2 games he then proceeded to rip up an NFL record 14 consecutive games of 100 yards rushing or more per game to total 2,000 yards rushing in the 14 games and this was on a perrinial losing team and with every defense he faced stacked to stop him.
Funny to think what would have happened had the Packers been smart enough to draft Barry with their #2 overall pick in 1989 and passed on Tony Mandrich.I think it might be Brett who?But like I said,me bitter?LOL

On a serious note, what did they think they were getting from a guy that waits until the last month of training camp to decide HE wants to still play.Funny thing is now I think that choice will be made for him.

Don't get me wrong.  I respect Brett Favre.  That comes from watching him humiliate the Bears for years.  I agree with you that this should be the end for him.

LOL..What is funny is that the Bears have been my team since I was knee high to a grasshopper, but I fell in love with the Pack, and Brett..sometimes ya just gotta say enough is enough, and for me it was this thread. For Brett, it should be any question of returning..it is time to head to the booth I hope!!

WOW..you obviously have an insight that I dont, not living there..but, why is it that people only remember the bad?? The selective memory thing really bugs the crap outta me, cos I am betting that you, and a whole lotta other Cheeseheads were hooting and hollering when Brett was doing good!! This is not being said in a disrespectful manner, more of a contemplative one....

I expected so much more from Brett Favre! He really disappointed me this year. But what do you expect from someone who doesn't know when to quit. I hope they don't use him next year. Either way, the Jets will have my support J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!

That's rich hearing Thomas Jones talking smack about Favre.  That guy goes from a 1 TD year to the Pro Bowl?  Seems like he benefitted from Favre's presence.  You anti-Favre people can spin all you like but that team was infintely better this season than last.  Stop the Presses...A aging HOFer acts like a diva & gets special treatment!  OMG!  It's soooo shocking.  Jones by all account is a solid guy but make no mistake he's an ego guy too-he obviously resents the fact that favre generated so much pub.  But whether he realizes it or not he's just adding to it.

For a guy who loves to bash people who don't have original opinions (according to you, that is), your first comment sounds incredibly similar to what Mark Schlereth was saying on ESPN.

Is it not true????? What's right is right no matter who said it.  Yes I heard Schlereth take that stance today but again is it not true.  None of you seem to mention that Jones had to 'clarify' his comments today.
