Jim Leavitt has been fired from South Florida

South Florida has only had a football team for 13 years, but Jim Leavitt has been their head coach the entire time. Until now, that is. South Florida fired the only coach they've ever known, following an incident in which he grabbed a player by the throat and hit him multiple times.

It looks like coaches will have to be a lot more careful with the way they treat their players. Leavitt, Mike Leach and Mark Mangino have all been dismissed lately thanks to mistakes in player treatment. A quick lapse of judgment at any time could get a coach fired... no matter what he has done for the team.
