I wouldn't believe this story unless it was written by Jeff Passan, and luckily it was.

Apparently Twins star Joe Mauer loves rap music. I mean REALLY loves rap music. So much that he apparently has his own studio where he drops mad beats.

“I’ve heard he buries himself in the studio. But never heard the finished product with my own ears. Looking at him right now, I’m guessing it’s a cross between Vanilla Ice and Cypress Hill.”

I'm thinking more like Snow crossed with Vanilla Ice.

3	I was thinking his crazy flow will have power to all fields and is likely to be along the lines of other Twin Cities stalwarts like: Atmosphere, Blueprint, Brother Ali, Eyedea & Abilities, I Self Devine, Metro Unit, Micranots, Mixed Breed, Los Nativos, P.O.S, Semi, and The Dynospectrum. Though often slept on the Twin Cities hip-hop scene is diverse, idiosyncratic and iconoclastic.

0	Lord, that is all we need. Another wanna be rapper/athlete. He is a nice guy, a hell of a hitter, will probably hit for .400 this year, may even win the triple crown and keeps his nose clean. I still can't let him away with this one. Joe, stick to baseball.
