Joey Porter says that he hates the Patriots
Joey Porter really hates the Patriots. But who can blame him? They've dominated his teams for his entire career.
21
I'm guessing it is because his teams have gone 2-7 against the Patriots over the course of his career, and the Patriots have taken him out of the playoffs twice, but Joey Porter makes no bones about it. He hates the Patriots.

"Everybody knows, let’s be honest, they don’t like me, and that’s fair. I don’t like them, and that’s fair. So it’s not like it’s a divorce happening. We were never really married anyway. I felt a certain way after some things came out, way back when. I was in Pittsburgh for some AFC championships that I’ve lost to them a couple of times, then come to figure out a month later why we lost. So, yeah, I have a natural hate for them - period. And that’s just going to be with me forever. That’s not ever going to change Yeah . . . you know exactly what I’m talking about. And they know exactly what I’m talking about. And that’s not going to change from my thought process on that situation.

"The last (AFC East) champion was the Miami Dolphins, so we have the championship, and until we lose it, it’s ours to lose. You can’t just crown the champions because they used to be the champion back in the day. That hardly makes any sense. It’s what you did the last year.

"You’re never judged on what you did a couple of years ago, it’s what you’re doing now . . . so yeah, just by natural thought, (it) comes through Miami, they’re the defending champs. You have to go beat them to take the championship from them. That’s just how it works.
"

Clearly, this is a very bitter man. We'll see how bitter he is next week, after he moves to 2-8 against the Patriots.

I think that Joey Porter is on his way to a 2-9 carrer record vs. the Pats.

I'm pretty sure it has more to do with what you do this year.

This year is a down year for the Dolphins. And a game against the Patriots, only compounds things.

It's a Boston...Patriot's thing...they don't like to lose on their home turf....Pats will prevail even if it's the Dolphins....It's Nov & Brady is just getting warmed up...his comfort zone has been reached..

Pat thats alot of confidence in the patriots. The dolphins arent a bad team and it seems you still hang on the 1-15 season like beating the dolphins is an easy thing to do. Dont be too comfortable with that. Dolphins went up big against the Saints to they have potential. Almost beat the undefeated colts. My point is that you are calling it like its the lock of the week and it is far from it. Do i have confidence in the Miami? yes absolutely but do i think beating the patriots is a lock? absolutely not.

They have had a bunch of them. Rodney Harrison quickly comes to mind. Leave the talkin on the field.

Joey Porter has never liked most teams. Maybe even some people. What he was refering to is "spygate". He also had some colorful comments about Tom Brady getting special treatment from the refs. He might be a little insane but is he that far off base?

Joey Porter clearly overestimates his relevance anymore.

^Because having the most sacks in the AFC last year makes him irrelevant? No.

And the Dolphins killed the Patriots in New England last year with the Wildcat and defense leading the way, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves and call this game over. We should all know that anything can happen in this league.

Everybody knows that Joey trash talks his opponents, it's motivation for him and the opponent if they take it.  It's good for the game of football.  We wouldn't want a whole bunch of good ol' boys praising each other and lickin faces.  be for real

You think the Pats are the only team that has ever done that? He is a loud mouth who likes to draw attention to himself.

so was rodney harrison. the point was you are one to talk about big mouthed athletes that dont know how to shutup. you had one on your roster for a good amount of years so quit bitchin

its like me (a dolphin fan) thinking the wildcat is stupid and a gimmick when any other team does it but when miami does it then its just another offense.

oh gee how professional of you. He calls it how he sees it. The NFL is strictly an entertainment business. This is part of it. Again quit complaining about someone saying the same thing that we say on FanIQ all the time those situations happen. I might as well throw the ole "bet you wouldnt say that to his face" at you. Issues like Tom Brady having his own rules allegedly arent issues you can settle on the field... thats stupid. Oh i beat you so now you must admit to having your own rules"

What the are you rambling on about? When did I complain? Stating the obvious like Joey Porter is a big mouth who likes to draw attention to himself is my opinion not a complaint. Which I am entitled to just like you. If you think that the Pats are the only team that has ever taped the opposition then you are only fooling yourself. Its just that they got caught. Its gone on for years. If he doesnt like the Pats it is most certainly something he can settle on the field.  Where are the so called Tom Brady rules coming from did I mention that? No. But if I had I would have said it certainly looks as though the referees are protecting the games elite QB's.
