Joique Bell is A Well-Kept Secret... For Now
READ MORE:

Joique Bell is possibly the best running back in the country, who nearly nobody’s heard of. He has a powerful frame 5’11 ¾ 224, but he has quick feet, good hands and thinks he’ll be sub 4.5 for his combine or pro day 40. He enters his senior year with school records for rushing yards (4,644), rushing touchdowns (59), all-purpose yards (5,663), total touchdowns (64), points (384), while ranking second in rushing attempts (855) and total offense (4,830), and has not slackened his pace. His career totals: 42 games, 6,340 rushing yards (1,129 attempts), and 85 touchdowns and this year he has: tied a GLIAC record with six rushing touchdowns

This season- In Wayne State's opener with Mercyhurst, Bell carried for 32 times for 135 yards and 2 TDs. He also caught a pass for 11 yards and threw once (incomplete).  Bell surpassed legendary running back Walter Payton (464 points, 1971-74, Jackson State) and Ricky Williams (452 points, 1995-98, Texas) on the all-time scoring list for all divisions in college football, Named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week Bell after rushing for 263 yards and six touchdowns on 34 carries in a 45-7 win over Ferris State. He also had two receptions for 42 yards to finish with 305 all-purpose yards which tied-for-sixth best total in school history. Against Findlay Bell rushed for 289 yards on 33 carries, becoming the GLIAC's all-time leading rusher. Facing Hillsdale his 51 carries was the second-best single-game total in school history and Bell's 278 rushing yards was the third-highest single-game total in school history. His four rushing touchdowns ties the school mark (accomplished nine times previously).

Bell's 320 all-purpose yards is fourth-best in school history. One last game: 32 carries 272 yards against Ashland.   The senior running back has 4,986 career yards, surpassing Michigan Tech's Lee Marana (4,748). Bell is an all-around athlete playing: baseball, basketball and football while also running track. He played on the high school's nationally ranked basketball team (No. 11) with Wilson Chandler, now with the New York Knicks. In track he ran the 110 meter hurdles in 14.9 seconds.   Coach Winters, in his sixth year as Wayne State's head coach, knows Bell has the ability to play in the NFL. Winters was an outstanding running back for Akron in the late '70s and was running backs coach at Wisconsin.

"I have no doubts," Winters said. "Put it this way, I coached at Wisconsin when Terrell Fletcher was there, and he played many years in the NFL (1995-2002 with San Diego) and Joique's a better back."Joique's very strong. He has quick feet in the way he changes direction. He has great acceleration and great vision. He anticipates where the hole is. He studies and understands the offense. Has great hand-eye coordination. He's the total package.”

The play that made Bell a minor YouTube sensation came after an interception  on a 2 point conversion attempt, with virtually no angle he ran a J.T Owens a fine safety who h

I always love when guys come out of these tiny schools.Hopefully he does make it to the pros.
Best thing of all, after running that guy down on the 2-pt conversion INT, he gets up and does nothing, no celebration, no jumping around...Just all hustle and no self congrats.....
The Steelers have two great stories in Willie Parker and James Harrison. Not to mention Jerry Rice.
