Jon Kitna must have suffered a huge hit to the head. He still thinks the Lions can win 10 games.

+1 thumbs upRoy Williams says they'll almost win 16.

They should have won 10 last year, and they've only gotten much better.  The main thing holding them back is the guy making the prediction.  Kitna is famously average.  Still, I think they'll do it.  2 guaranteed wins against the Packers helps.  Lions fans need to quit acting like Cubs fans and tempering expectations just to look lovably emo.  Expect at least 10 and start looking towards a legitimate future.

Last year I really did think they would do it.  This year I think were back to a 4 or 5 win season. No Martz.  No Shaun Rogers.  Say what you want about him but he was the heart of the team when he could play.  Roy Williams wants out. Both RBs are gone, and we failed to pick up Mendenhall in the first round...lets just hope Smith is good.

Just because you don't know much about what's there doesn't mean they'll be awful.  Martz left but his relatively short tenure and relatively neutral impact won't be missed.  He let Kitna be the careless asshole he loves to be, and he doesn't have the moxie to back it up.  The new personnel will keep him in line.

Rogers was the heart of the team when he could play, or when he decided to play, or on the plays he didn't take off.  They needed to move on.

Winning early will shut up Williams and what 2 RBs?  Kevin Jones and TJ Duckett?  Those aren't NFL Running Backs.  They kept the right one of the 3 in Bell and the aforementioned Smith was the steal of the draft.

And Dizon will single-handedly revamp that defense.  It's a new makeup but they'll learn on the fly.  Not having to rely on an apathetic lardass up front, and instead relying on savvy and speed in the defensive backfield?  It's going to work wonders.
