Jordan Shipley sets Texas record with 273 receiving yards against Central Florida
Jordan Shipley had more yards than the entire Central Florida team, breaking a Texas record in their 35-3 win
27
Jordan Shipley had quite a game against Central Florida, including a Texas school record 273 receiving yards. The previous record was only 198 yards, set back in 1979 by Johnny Jones.

Colt McCoy almost set a record as well, passing for 470 yards. The school record is 473.  That's especially impressive, considering McCoy threw his final pass with almost 10 minutes left in the game.

McCoy threw his final pass with 10 minutes to go and 3 yards short of the school record?  Why didn't someone suggest running one more pass play with McCoy?
BECAUSE AT TEXAS WE HAVE CLASS AND DON'T RUN UP THE SCORE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!!!!!

It seems like both Jordan Shipley and Colt McCoy have been playing forever.  No wonder they have such great chemistry on the field

WOW what a accomplishment Longhorns epically against such a  high ranked defense the Central Florida Golden Knights have.  I bet your very proud of yourselves.

it's because of those two i love watching the Longhorns play so much right now. Shipley brings such a great spark to the team and i'm sure he'll do the same in the NFL. and Colt is such a great leader, he is poised for great things as well. congrats to the Longhorns on the win today and the records, no matter who it was against, they dominated again. hook em'!

What makes it even better is knowing that West Virginia sucks.

Sorry, I had to do it.

Ya, your right. I think McCoy should have thrown another pass, unless of course they were completely oblivious to the record. We should keep him in for a bit longer if we really want a heisman quarterback at UT.

Being a WVU fan has nothing to do with the Longhorns running all over the Golden Knight, do it against a strong defense and lets see if they can gain all these yard and come close to breaking school records. But to brag about whipping up on a less than mediocre team isn't an accomplishment. Don't get me wrong the Longhorn's are a great team, I just don't see this being a great accomplishment they didn't play anyone worth bragging about.

It does not matter who you play, if you beat a record you beat a record.  If that is the case you should take  away all the TD's Tebow has scored against Div II and Div III teams and that  should make his TD record not that big of deal for example.

You are miss understanding me I know it doesn't matter who you play, but to brag about doing it to a less than mediocre team is crazy if you want to accomplish something and earn bragging rights put those same numbers up against a tough opponent. That will show the bcs your the real deal.

A real opponent...like the 1 the Gators played this week?

I don't ever remember saying that, the Gators haven't played a team worth discussing all year, and for that matter they have been just getting by on a hope and a prayer for the biggest part of the season.

Sorry, but SEC > Conference USA.....

Come up with a better argument next time.

But that doesn't mean Vanderbilt is better than every Conference USA team.

No, but they played tougher competition overall than UCF did this season, and pretty much every season.

But that still doesn't mean Vanderbilt is a better team. Strength of schedule is kinda silly to talk about when you're comparing a 2-8 team to a 5-4 team, regardless of conference. Just saying.

I see your point, but just reiterating others' comments that Texas routed a C-USA team vs one from their own conference. Maybe UCF is 5-4 because of their conference, same as Vandy being 2-8 because of theirs, lending to Vandy's strength of schedule.

We beat # 14 Okie State 41-14. They held Georgia to THE EXACT SAME POINTS FLORIDA DID. WVA isn't that bad anyway, they only have two losses.

Colt needs to win the Heisman, he is starting his run of greatnees at the right time. I would rather him struggle early in the season (like he did) than late in the season. Jordan Shipley is one of the best WR the Longhorns have ever has, with that said tho, Shipley will not pan out in the pro's tho. Not many Longhorn WR workout in the NFL (see Roy Williams)
