Jurevicius Sues Browns Over Staph That Likely Ended His Career
Joe Jurevicius is suing the Browns over staph infection that likely ended his career
Joe Jurevicius is suing over the staph infection that likely ended his career.  He was a stud at Penn State and I loved watching him play for the Browns.

It is a messy situation when it comes to Staph in the NFL, but Cleveland has had a rough go of it.

It was supposedly a staph infection that drove a wedge between Winslow and Savage, as well,

It will be interesting to see this play out and to see what the ramifications are league-wide if Joe wins.

What the hell are those Browns doing in that locker room to give each other staph infections?  Maybe they can get a Training Camp reality show on Logo with that kind of thing...

Staph is a flesh eating bacteria that is one Bad M*ther F*cker of an infection.  I have had staph in a skin infection and that was bad enough.  Having it in an internal injury is life threatening.

Still, with all the problems Cleveland was having it seemed as if the team was sterilizing their facility every fifteen minutes.  Not sure if it can be proven that they were negligent.

LeCharles Bentley and Winslow will be watching this closely, I would guess.

It hurts my head to think they pay these guys MILLIONS of dollars!! They are an investment!  Seems you would want to make sure any physical problems would not come from their locker room area.  Why would you have such disregard for their health?  I wouldn't think it would take a brain surgeon to figure out it's THAT filthy.  That's where they have the whirlpools, work on the guys injuries and sore spots.  I hope he blows them out of the water, if in deed those are the conditions to which those guys are subjected!  I have been a Browns fan for a long time.  I'm appalled that they would treat such valuable human resources so poorly!  Nothing like penny wise and pound foolish!  Staph is serious stuff, it's no splinter in your finger!  I sure hope it doesn't end his career.  I will be watching to see how this turns out too!  Thanks Fred for the heads up!

As a HS and college wrestler let me assure you that Staph is no trifle and it is very widespread and difficult to control, the stuff is hardy and keeps coming back, this is a real test case.

If in fact there are such problems why would only one player be infected? Seems to me if there is such a problem and I am not saying there isn't. But there is also such problems such as hospitals and nursing homes and if you use proper hand washing and other sanitary precautions you should not be infected. If they succumb to this lawsuit they will only be grandfathering in other law suits.

Don't quote me here, but it seemed there were several cases and it was found to be quite rampant in the Browns' environment there.  There have been hospitals that have had problems with their patients getting staph, then losing limbs to lives.  It's a really serious issue, that you would think in this day of advanced *development* we would have left far in the past.   I definitely don't think anyone should be getting a *free ride*.  I think it needs to be investigated and the facts laid out on the table.. Ohhhhh I'm such a dreamer !

Browns, getting sued for a player's staph infection? Ga-reat! No wonder we have never been to a Super Bowl!

If I were head coach, without staph infections, the Browns will be in the Super Bowl every year.
