Justin Fargas thinks that pigeon may have been dead former teammate Marquis Cooper
Justin Fargas has officially lost it.

A bird flew on the field and appeared to be "playing" on special teams with the Raiders on Sunday against the Eagles. 99.9% of people would look at that and say 'wow, what a weird coincidence'. Not not Justin Fargas.

"Yeah it was definitely a strange event seeing that bird flying out there. It seemed comfortable on the football field and comfortable lying down there literally on special teams. It very well could have been Marquis."

Marquis Cooper was the former Raider who tragically died in the Gulf of Mexico in March.

Death is a hard thing for some people to deal with.  And some people believe that spirits show in different forms.  I can't believe you are knocking a guy for how he feels about a deceased teammate and friend.  If thats how he wants to cope, then let him cope that way.

That's what I would have said.  I like the sentiment it shows on Fargas' part.

A friend of mine drowned a few years ago.  He could get butterflies to land on his finger when he was alive.  After he died, there was a live butterfly in my condo.  And I firmly believe it was him.  So if Fargas is crazy, then so am I.

i don't think he has lost it - if nothing else its an homage, of sorts, to a lost teammate

Let Huggy Bear, Jr. have his moment. I don't think he lost his mind, he's just coping the best way he knows how.

It honestly took me a minute to connect this..at first I thought he was implying the bird was as effective as someone out there on the field, who was slacking off "laying down on special teams" (which wouldn't be a stretch with the Raiders) lol. Then I remembered who Marquis was.

Sometimes animals have a way of healing those who need healing.  For him, it is helping him move on.  It is still amazing how the pigeon seemed to know how to line up, take off at the right time and hold contain.

Lost his mind? No. Coping? Most Definitely.

What's wrong with a guy expressing himself.  It's not like  he saw Elvis in a shopping mall!!.  He saw something few people took the time to see.

You know, i'm a strong believer in spirits and i'm going to say that he hasn't lost his mind on this one, because i'm quite sure that the raiders actually winning a game and the pigeon on the field for special teams have to some how be related to each other. Go raiders!
