Justin Verlander throws a no-hitter against the Brewers

A young pitcher you knew had the stuff to do it, Justin Verlander  pitched a no-hitter. The first Tiger since Jack Morris in 1984.

Just filthy tonight. Threw a 101 mph fastball in the 9th. It always takes a few lucky bounces (double play in the 8th), but Justin was definitely unhittable.

Here's the line: 9 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 12 K

Discuss. Mostly how hot his wife/girlfriend is.

I don't know what was more impressive, the no-hitter or Verlander's girl.

His wife/girlfriend is hot. Unlike the Brewers, he'll definitely be scoring tonight.

Rece Davis just asked a reporter from the Detroit Free-Press, "Is this the best you've ever seen Verlander pitch?" I wish I could reach through the TV and choke him.

I don't know how many times in the past two weeks I've asked myself, "Have we hit rock bottom yet?"  If this isn't it, I don't know what is.  We need to turn things around fast.

Plain and Simple.  Justin Verlander is a perfect example that the Detroit Tigers have the best young pithcing in the majors, along with the greatest pool of talent in the minors.  Verlander, Bonderman, Miller, Zumaya (Once he gets back), Rodney, and the still developing talent in the minors are going to bring the Tigers back to being a major force in the Major Leagues for now, and many years down the line.  Way to go Verlander, Way to go Tigers, and Way to lose Cleveland, Tigers in 1st.

I read about who she is earlier too. It's always nice to see an athlete who isn't with some random woman who stalked him just to be with a pro baseball player.

That was dominanting pitching at its finest. The stuff he was throwing in the 9th inning, 83 mph knee bucklers on the corners followed by 102 with movement painting the black. I admit the accuracy of the Comerica Park radar gun has come into question in the past, but regardless in the 9th inning with that kind of pressure, it was the single greatest performance I've ever witnessed in over 23 years of watching baseball. And he's only 24, it might not be his last.

They had a video of Verlander's whole game wrapped up in a 30 sec spot on Youtube.  Don't have time to find it, but it's HOT!  It's great to see the team that nobody really cared about rebuilt and ready to go!  I know this a baseball site, but have to say this in reguards to our Lions... If Ford would either fire our GM or sell the team to Illitch, We'd be good to go!  Every time that Lion roars at Ford Field, it sounds more like a Toliet bowl flusing, lol
