Karen Sypher indicted in Rick Pitino extortion case and is speechless for the first time in two weeks.

Karen Sypher appeared in court on Friday, April 24, 2009, to face accusations in the extortion case against Rick Pitino, Head Coach of the University of Louisville basketball team. Among the list of demands for whatever "criminal allegations" Sypher was making against Pitino: Sypher wanted to have her home paid off, any two cars of her choosing, $3,000 per month, and $75,000 if Pitino were to leave the University of Louisville. Later, Sypher changed her mind and demanded $10 million in leiu of her list of demands. It is still unknown why Sypher attempted to extort money from Pitino, who is under the impression that the extortion attempt is related to an incident that occurred in 2003.
Charges against Karen Sypher include extortion and lying to the FBI. She has not entered a plea; however, she has been placed in FBI custody and was released on her own recognizance.
