The MLB All-Star starters and backups have been announced.

Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez are not in the AL lineup. Missing from the NL is Chipper Jones, Jimmie Rollins and Chris Carpenter.

10 first-time all-stars will make up almost a third of the AL roster.

Don't forget, fans still get to vote in 1 last player for each roster, out of a list of 5 possible. The game will be in St. Louis this year on July 14th. Enjoy.

Nice to see Ryan Franklin get some recognition on the National League side. 20/21 saves, ERA of 0.84 in a role that coming out of spring training was up for grabs for the Cardinals. I would also guess that the NL is going to have to make a couple of more decisions with there outfield. I dont think Beltran or Ibanez are going to play in the game and both are listed as starters. I wouldnt be surprised if Sandoval wins the internet vote and Kemp and Victorino are added as replacements.

2	I couldn't believe Josh Hamilton made it into the AL starting roster when he hasn't it played half of season before the all-star break. Last I knew, he wasn't off of the DL.

0	I would LIKE to see Chipper in, and maybe with all the injuries, he will be. But I doubt it. I hated Bonds, but for all the people who gave him crap for years, now rooting for Manny. Really? REALLY?

2	It makes sense that Manny isn't on A.L. roster considering he plays for the Dodgers. I can't complain too much about the teams, A-Rod didn't deserve to be on it.

Well, for once there isn't too much on the rosters to crap on. A rarity for an all-star game.

The only one I have a major problem with is Josh Hamilton. Personally I still think he's vastly overrated, but with that aside there is no excuse for putting in a guy who hasn't played most of the season. It's the outfield... you can find a hundred guys who deserve to be there more than he does (even throwing in a DH like Lind, for example). The guy even admitted he doesn't deserve to be there.

At least the fans were smart enough for once to not vote in Man-"bonehead"-Ram and A-Fraud.

How about that vote for the final 2 spots? The AL in particular, all 5 virtually on the level. I'm guessing Kinsler (how did Pedroia get the start? Because he plays for the RED SOX) and Sandoval.
