As a native son of Colorado and a big sports fan of most of the state's pro teams, this has not been the best of times for them recently.  Now with J.R. Smith's accident hopefully the players themselves will take a look individually at how precious life is.  JR's injuries will heal however the thoughts of his friends passing away whether his fault or not will take much longer to come to grips with.  I pray for his recovery in this area of life as well.

The biggest travesty of this story is Mark Kiszla blaming JR Smith's "hip hop lifestyle" for the accident.

Flashing gang signs after hitting a 3?  He holds up 3 fingers, signifying a made three point shot.  I guess the refs are gang-bangers, too?

Some poeple look for opportunity to push their own agendas during tragedies. It's sad, but most people understand that you can't blame rap everytime something happens and the person is wearing baggy jeans. There are good people and people who don't do good things. JR happens to fall in the latter category far too often.
