Marcin Gortat, the only Polish player in the NBA, who also happens to have an Air Jordan tattoo on his leg (even though he's sponsored by Reebok) will sign with the Dallas Mavericks on July 8th.

I honestly don't think he does anything for them, but whatever. Give us your thoughts on what you think he can bring to the table for the Mavs.

As for the Magic, I guess this does hurt them, since Gortat was a more than decent backup for Dwight Howard. How much does his move hurt the Magic?

The Magic are screwed if they don't have a backup for Dwight Howard. Gortat did a very decent job backing up Dwight last season in the playoffs and if Dwight Howard gets in foul trouble(almost all the time), the Magic won't have someone that can play center or else they're going to have to spend some big time dough to get a decent center and with Vince Carter coming, I don't know if that's possible.

We'll see if he's legit or not. Maybe they keep both, maybe we ship Damp out. I'm OK with either scenario I think. If we trade away Dampier, I think we're actually not too bad with a rotation of Gortat, Hollins and Singleton. They're all high-energy rebounders and can play decent defense.

I'll say one thing about Gortat, at least in this year's playoffs he seemed to play with alot of urgency. A lot more than I've EVER seen Ericka play with. Hope it wasn't just that he was playing for a big contract.

0	I think Gortat is a big improvement over Dampier for the Mavs, and the Mavs are in an arms race against the spurs, etc. I think the bigger question isn't so much what Gortat does for the mavs, it is how badly is this going to hurt the magic especially given the moves that cleveland, detroit, etc. are making.

I FEEL BAD FOR ORLANDO THOUGH ,THEY WRAPPED ALL THEIR MONEY UP IN VINCE AND DIDN'T PROVIDE A QUALITY BACKUP FOR THEIR MOST IMPORTANT POSITION!! THEY JUST TOOK A 7 FOOT OBSTACLE OUT OF THE CAV'S PATH TO THE FINALS!!
