More people probably would have read this if you hadn't put the name "Mariotti" in the headline. Mariotti's soultion is bone-headed. He would have Stern investigate this? That's the fox guarding the henhouse!
Stern is way too smart for anyone to believe he is guiltless in this if there is ultimately anything whatsoever to these claims. Stern dismisses Donaghy as a "singing, co-operating witness who is trying to get as light a sentence as he can", but, as Stern is a lawyer -and he was a damn good one, by the way-- he knows that is true of EVERYONE facing the fed's mandatory sentencing guidelines. It doesn't make the felon incorrect in his assertions: it merely means that he has been caught and prefers co-operating to do 15 months in jail as opposed to 15 years for non-co-operating types.
