Mark Coleman out of fight with Tito Ortiz at UFC 106
Mark Coleman can't fight Tito Ortiz at UFC 106, so who should step up?
15
Mark Coleman was supposed to be Tito Ortiz's first opponent in his comeback to the UFC, but is now out of the fight, due to injury. There really aren't many big name opponents out there for Tito on short notice, which is clearly what the UFC would want.

Personally, I'd like to see Forrest Griffin get a rematch with Ortiz. Along with many people, I believe he got cheated a bit on a bad decision by the judges, and I'd like to see that fight happen again. That, however, would mean a loss for Tito or Forrest, which is something the UFC probably doesn't want to see right now.

Who do you think should fight Tito in his first comeback fight?

Dan Henderson makes the most sense to me.  Vitor is the next in line for Silva's title, and Hendo went on record saying that if he doesn't get the title shot he wants to fight at 205.  That's provided they get his contract situation right.  I think it would make much more interesting match than Chuck (which we've already seen twice anyway).  Problem is that Tito and Dana made up so Dana probably won't put Tito against someone who will spoil his comeback, which Hendo could most certainly do.  But I don't like Tito so I say bring on Hendo

They wont put Check Kongo in there because he training for a fight against Frank Mir and they wont but Hendo in thier because hes training for his fight against Nate Marquerd ( how ever you spell it) for 1 contender against the winner between Vitor and Silva, and they wont get Chuck Liddle because hes on DWTS i think that a good match up with Tito would be Rashad because hes not fighting Rampage anymore I personly would like to see W Silva i think that could be a good match.

-Tito vs Rashad 2 would make sense if Rashad wasn't already confirmed to face Thiago Silva next, which i think is a much better match up anyway (Tito vs Rashad 1 was boring as hell)
- I would agree with Tito vs Wand 2, except Wand is recovering from facial surgery and wont be fighting until 2010, and hes moving down to 185 anyway.  They could make it a catchweight, but we've seen enough of those for the time being.  It is a match I want to see though, because the first fight was total BS.
- Chuck vs Tito 3.  No.  They already fought twice.  Chuck won both fights.  This isn't a rubber match.  There's no point.  There's the whole DTWS thing, but more importantly, Chuck is done.
- Hendo is NOT training for a fight against Nate.  Read my previous post.  Besides the fact that he said he wants to move back to 205 if he doesn't get the next title shot, he's negotiating his contract as we speak, and last I heard negotiations weren't going too well.  So technically he may not even be under UFC contract right now.  So unless some terms are met (Hendo getting a big bonus in pay I'm sure), we won't be seeing  Hendo vs Nate.  He doesn't want the match.
- You're overlooking the main reason why Kongo wouldn't work: they're not in the same weight class.  Even if Tito went up to HW for some reason, Kongo would outweigh him quite a bit, and has a power behind his strikes.  I don't think Dana likes those odds

The Rashad matchup would be useless because Tito would get absolutely dominated. Bring back Houston Alexander and put him in. He may not be the best fighter but the guy always delivers in the entertainment factor. Or how about throwing Staphan Bonnar another chance to get destroyed by a has been wrestler. Every that has been listed so far is way too high profile to fight Tito. He needs a mid level fighter, not an elite.
