Well, I don't like it.  I think the position in the 5 car should have gone to a young up and coming driver.  Don't get me wrong, I am a long time Mark Martin fan, but enough is enough.  I don't think he can win a championship and I'm tired of his waffling on whether he wants to drive full time or not.  Retire Mark.  Be done with it.  If you want to continue driving, do so in the truck series. 

Sorry Mr. Hendrick, I think you made a big mistake.  I would rather have seen Martin Truex Jr. or Brad Keselowski in that ride.

 

But, that's MY opinion.....what's yours?

Let Martin drive next year and give Keselowski one more year in the nationwide series then bring him up the next year. As for Truex it sounds like he may resign with Theresa Earnhardt Incorporated,  not a smart move Martin.

I agree with the seat should have gone to a up and coming driver. Mark should have retired when he said he was going too...I think he needs the money to pay for Matt's truck ride cause he isn't very good!!! I think Hendrick is going to be very sorry they got mixed up with Mark Martin!!!

I like the article debi but I don't agree. I think Mark Martin will bring a lot to the HMS table next season. He's finished second four times and that's a bitter pill to swallow upon retirement. Give him a shot at winning!  Hendrick did the same for Jr. Drivers know where to go to contend for a championship!

I think it's a good choice too, Mark can still drive! Not like Jarrett and Petty who retired before they quit driving! HMS won't have any trouble filling that seat down the road with a younger driver, and if Mark wins some in the mean time, well that will be a feather in Rick's cap!  So Hurray for Mark!

I bet anyone anything that next year mark martin will finish ahead of mark in the title hunt.  Listen we don't need Junior dragging all of his kronies to Hendrick.  Oh by the way could anyone tell that it bothered junior that mark martin is coming. He wanted his no talent waste of space buddies Brad "no talent" keselowski or truex jr to get a ride so he won't be the worst driver at hendrick next year! Oh I said it and the stats do not lie. Jeff, jimmy, and mark all have more wins and done more than junior will ever do. Oh and guess what Landon Cassil will take over the 5 car in 2010. Mark martin signed a 2 yr contract. Oh and if Rick Hendrick wanted he could have gotten Tony Stewart, Stewart was intrested in the job.  Listen Right now in Nascar you have to get big names to keep your sponsors ask Dario, or either Yates driver!

THIS IS THE SIMPLE ANWSER! RICK HENDRICK MADE A HUGE MISTAKE LAST YEAR BY LETTING KYLE BUSCH GO. HE SHOULD FIRED CASEY MEARS! RICK SAW MARK MARTIN AND HE WAS'NT GONNA LET THAT FREE AGENT GET AWAY. SO THE REALLY IDIOT IS DEI FOR PUTTING ARIK ARMORLIA IN THE CAR AND LETTING MARK GO.  I THINK RICK HENDRICK KNOWS WHAT HES DOING. HE ONLY HAS WON 7 CUP OWNERS CHAMPIOSHIPS!
