Michael Crabtree to meet the 49ers today, people think he will cave in
All signs point to Michael Crabtree caving in at this point in time. What do you think will happen?
Michael Crabtree and his agent Eugene Parker are in San Francisco today to renew discussions with the 49ers. Word is that while everyone knows Crabtree wants to be paid more than Darrius Heyward-Bey, who was drafted ahead of him, the 49ers won't be budging on paying Crabtree the alotted amount for the 10th pick.

While that might make you think, "Well, what's going to change?", the truth is that the 49ers 3-1 record combined with Hall of Famer Jim Brown telling Crabtree his legacy has to do with his performance, not how much money he makes, might make things different this time.

Plus, all indications are that Crabtree is going to cave. Why else would he be renewing discussions now?

But what do you think? Do you think the deal finally gets done this week?

it's amazing what happens when you are winning. I wonder if San Fran was 0-4 if he would be scrambling back to sign?

Well the 49'ers are finally standing up to these players that "demand" stuff. This should have been done a long time ago. Hopefully future pics see how this happened and how much money he know left on the table by not playling. He better just be able to play ball whenever he signes to make up for being this much of a pain. Then again look what Singletary did with Vernon Davis. Samurai Mike can set him straight.

I see a deal getting done this week.  At some point Crabtree had to realize, wait...  I can get paid millions of dollars guaranteed to play on a really good NFL team with a quarterback who's not half as bad as I thought he'd be.  Then, if I play well I have a chance to make even more money?  Or I can move back home with my mom for a year and potentially lose everything...  Hmm...

Jump on the bandwagon now, kid.  Gain the favor of your team and the fans.  Things are looking up for the 9ers, if you want to be apart of this, you better do it now.

Seems like Percy Harvin would have been the better choice right now

I really don't give a fig when Crabtree signs.  The 49ers are in position to finally have a good season. Mike Nolan gave them some stability, but didn't win games. This Mike, I think has the goods and fire to help them achieve this year and beyond.

I think that Michael Crabtree will become the richest divafied douchebag in America, no matter how much he's paid.

Imagine how Crabtree feels if he doesn't sign and the 49ers start a dynasty and he ends up a fourth round pick of the Raiders next year getting thrown the ball by Jamarcus Rusell.

Wanna sign yet Crabtree.

See what happens when you are greedy kids!!! Crabtree thought that he would pull a quick one and holdout for money that he wasn’t at all entitled to. When he actually steps foot on Candlestick field and proves that he can play football at the professional level, maybe then would be a good time to ask for more money. But until that happens he should keep his mouth shut, and be grateful for what the Niners are offering him. Its not like they really need him anyways…. Shun Hill seems to be doing just fine with V. Davis, Isaac Bruce, and josh Morgan as his offensive targets. Oh and I forgot to mention one of the illest running backs in the league.  Anyways we will have to wait and see whether he signs this week but when he does, he better bring his A- Game!

Even if he signs today, I don't think he'll see the field until the end of the season, if that. Certainly not against Atlanta.

How right you are!!   I've seen 2 receivers that I'd say are definitely ahead of Mr. Crabtree's curve. Hakim Nicks of the Giants and Percy Harvin have got great skills plus they are big receivers. I watched Nicks play at NC and Harvin play at Florida. Both exiting to watch!!  Mr. Crabtree benefitted from an offense that philosophized that pass 1st mentality. They passed on almost every down!!
