Well, well, well. Looks like Mike Shanahan is making his move.

According to ESPNChicago.com, a "close friend" of Shanahan's says that the former Broncos coach would be "extremely interested" in the Bears' head-coaching job.

"The job is really attractive to Mike," the friend told Melissa Isaacson of ESPNChicago.com. "It's home.  It's a great challenge because that roster needs to be made over, and the one guy there to build the team around is the one guy he has already built a team around and with whom he has a tremendous comfort level, Jay Cutler."

Even though some people may think this is a ploy by Shanahan to jack up the salary he'd get from the Redskins (who are locked on to Shanahan), I honestly think Chicago is a much better location. Plus, it seems Shanahan has the magic sauce that makes (or made) Cutler successful.

But then, this might all come down to power, and Shanahan will basically be able to do whatever he wants in DC, whereas he might not have that in Chicago.
