Mike Singletary gets into verbal spat with Harvey Dahl during 49ers versus Falcons game
Is Mike Singletary maybe a tad too fiery?
READ MORE:
Look, I like Mike Singletary a ton, but I've always had the sense that he might explode at any moment. And that it won't be good when it happens. We all remember the infamous pants-dropping moment from last season, right? I mean, that nearly cost him his gig this year.

Well, once again Samurai Mike's fiery temper got the best of him as the 49ers were getting curbstomped by the Falcons. Singletary got into a beef with former 49er - and current Falcon - Harvey Dahl after Dahl apparently said something to Singletary.

Frankly though, I'm not upset by this. In fact, I kind of like it. If another player is talking s*** about your team, I'd be psyched to see my coach start jawing with him. I mean, it beats Singletary jawing at you as you're stinking the joint up. Got to love a coach who loves his team.

Anyway, I think this is a bigger deal than people are making of it. But I keep wondering when Singletary might do something that he'll really regret.

I know what you mean. I was wondering today when watching the game if he was going to drop his pants. As a Falcons fan, I can certainly admit Dahl was being a douchebag. And it is nice to see a coach man up like that. But yeah, I thought he might murder Dre Bly for his hot dogging that cost them a fumble.

Save it  ... Ur just trying to find drama where there is none. Its just a loss. You lose and then you get better from learning from the loss.

Some people may think that he is a bit to fired up at times, but after that stunt that Dre Bly pulled on the interception against the Falcons, can you blame him?

As long as he doesn't go Woody Hayes on somebody, I'm fine w/it.

My thought when Samurai Mike called that TO to bitch at the team? I instantly thought "Yeah, he could chew them out at half time. You watch, they are gonna wish they had that time out later."

Then what happened? First, right after that time out they got bombed for a TD.  During that time out while Mike was griping at his team the Falcons coaches were actually coaching their team, going over how they were going to expose the niners on their next play.

After that? Well, they had to use the other two time outs for in game stuff (I know you can argue that Coffee not being ready was a problem but I still think that goes back to coaching).

Anyway, right after another bad coaching move that led to a 90 yard TD we see Walker "fumble" the kickoff which wasn't really a fumble. So if Mike hadn't wasted a TO to gripe at the team, he'd have had one right there to challenge that call and the niners would have had the ball back down by 11. Instead the falcons get another TD and the game was over at that point.

So is Mike too fiery? Yeah, he is and that wasted time out is just the first symptom of it. Today's players can only get yelled at for so long before they start tuning the coach out.

The whole game pissed me off there were so many coaching and player mistakes that made us look like the team we were last year at the beginning
