NBA Draft rumors: Amar'e Stoudemire trade to Warriors, Knicks want point guard, and more
There's only hours to go before the NBA Draft, so here's the latest draft buzz, including Amar'e Stoudemire possibly becoming a Warrior.
All right, only hours to go before the NBA Draft. Here are the biggest rumors out there right now.
  • League executives say the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors have discussed a possible trade that is centered around sending Amare Stoudemire to the Warriors for a package that would include Andris Biedrins and the No. 7 pick in the draft
  • New York Knicks officials are telling peers they have purchased the Lakers’ No. 29 pick. The Knicks also are planning to draft a point guard with their choice at No. 8, and sources say they’re targeting a big man at 29.
  • That purchase of the Lakers pick by the Knicks is important for the Lakers, since they want to use that money to help resign Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza.
  • The Sacramento Kings have all but ruled out drafting star Ricky Rubio with the fourth pick and have focused on two other guards: Tyreke Evans and Jonny Flynn, league sources said.
  • Milwaukee coach Scott Skiles has become a proponent of Brandon Jennings, a source said and could push to make the point guard the Bucks’ choice at No. 10.
  • The Portland Trail Blazers traded the 24th and 56th picks in the draft to the Dallas Mavericks for the 22nd pick on Wednesday afternoon, a league source told Yahoo Sports. Portland could use the pick to package with a player to move up into the lottery.
  • The Indiana Pacers are discussing trading point guard T.J. Ford with several teams, league sources say.

Are the Suns planning on retooling or rebooting? O'Neal makes sense only 'cause it frees up space for Stoudemire to operate inside.

Also, the Lakers were shopping Jordan Farmar as well as that #29 pick.  My guess is that they were going to try and draft a PG with the #29 pick if they were able to move Farmar (more for financial reasons than any other), but I am glad they were able to sell the pick for about three times more than it is supposedly worth (sold for a reported $3 million).

There will be much more smoke than fire, but such i the draft in any sport.  Lots of talking, little action.  It does sound like the Suns are intent on completely blowing it up though, and Amar'e would fit in on the Warriors since both the Suns and the W's run similar offenses.

Wow ... TJ Ford is worth about a dozen basketballs in a trade. I thought he would be good after watching him at Texas ... *shrug*

Why are the suns even thinking or resigning Nash?  He is going to command too much money for them. They need to just tear it all down and start over. :/

I'm not seeing Vince Carter to Orlando with Ryan Anderson for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie, and Courtney Lee .. but ESPN says it'll be done before the draft

I'd like to see him stay, but as bad as Phx seems to be making decisions lately.... it's just a waste. The Suns are really imploding.
