Talk about a cakewalk. People should check out any SEC teams non conference schedule any year, especially LSU's in 2008. I think there were 2 years when Arkansas and Auburn played USC and got absolutely crushed. Other than that the SEC has stuck to those obvious regional rivalries like New Mexico State, Utah State and San Jose State.

OSU needs to make no apologies for their non conference schedule last year. Yes, it was easy, but still better than a lot of SEC teams non conference schedule and they were the major complainers. Washington was scheduled well in advance just like USC, Miami, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and other cupcakes like that are scheduled well in advance for OSU currently, you can't predict how teams will turn out 6-8 years in advance. It is extremely rare for anyone to schedule more than 1 major conference non conf game, so I don't fault OSU for that, although I don't like a 1-AA team hitting their schedule for the first time ever something every SEC team has done for years.

OSU's non conference schedule is clearly better than most if not all SEC's teams non conference schedule year after year. OSU deserved to be there no question, but obviously didn't get the job done

On August 30, 2008, Ohio State takes on "powerhouse" Youngstown State.  That same opening week-end, Alabama will take on Clemson, Florida plays Sugar Bowl participant Hawaii, Kentucky plays Louisville, Ole Miss plays Memphis, South Carolina plays NC State, Tennessee plays UCLA, and LSU even pencilled in Appalachian State as a quick replacement game for that week-end since App State looked so good beating up on the Big 10.

The following two weeks while OSU is resting up from their titanic struggle with Ohio or losing to USC, Auburn draws C-USA perennial power Southern Mississippi, Florida will play Miami (the REAL one in Florida NOT the one in Ohio), Arkansas will play Texas, Ole Miss will play Wake Forrest, and Miss State draws Georgia Tech.

And while OSU is playing that "tough" Big 10 sched, these other SEC teams will be taking "breathers" from the brutal SEC schedule later in the year to play these games: Florida vs Florida State, Georgia vs Arizona State, Arkansas vs C-USA winner Tulsa, Auburn at West Virginia, Georgia vs. Georgia Tech, South Carolina vs Clemson, and Vanderbilt at Wake Forrest.  LSU does play cross state rival Tulane out of conference later too, but we know the outcome is a foregone conclusion and meant only to share revenue with an in-state school, but if Troy was so bad a scheduling for LSU this year (09/06/08), why does your OSU play the same Troy 2 weeks later (09/20/08) this year?

Wow, they are calling my Irish in the Gator Bowl?  I think that they will make a bowl, but hey hopefully they can win one.

OSU fans should pray that an SEC team does not make it to the championship game, because that is the only shot they have.  0-9!  Michigan has a winning record against the SEC, fact!  Look it up.

I hate Michigan and OSU, but I have to give Michigan credit for their record and their win against a stacked Florida team last year.

OSU fans are so delusional lol. UGA will make it to the CG and like every game against the SEC Ohio state will lose and hopefully a third straight year of Ohio getting Blown out by an SEC team the NCAA will shove a playoff system in it. (A whole different argument)

UF was not stacked by any means. They were and will be one dimensional this year as well. I give Mich credit for drawing up a gameplan for other team to stop Tebow and Percy Harvin. Mich's OL was too much for UF as well. Good for Mich. But I hope to God OSU does not waste another championship game by getting blown out three years in a row.

Out of curiosity, what's so delusional to know without doubt we will participate in yet another championship game, we will participate in this game every year for as long as the bcs keeps this idiotic system for determining the national championship. We will be in this game for some time to come because quite frankly our biggest in conference competition will be ... Wisconsin. Are you kidding me. The badgers are the only team that can stand between Ohio State and the National Championship game. We'll be in this game until they change the system and guess what. Even then we'll be in the conversation every year. So just get used to it.
