Australia will face New Zealand in the fifth and the final ODI of the Chappell-Hadlee series. The series has already been won by Australia, who came back from a loss in the first match of the series to win three successive games to clinch the series. The Kiwis would obviously be wondering what went wrong after their impressive start to the tournament, but the fact of the matter is that the Aussies were coming off a run that saw them win 11 successive ODI games, and the first loss was only an aberration.

With the series in their pockets, there is a good chance that the Australian side will be looking to ring in the changes and give a much needed break to some of those who have been playing in the series for some time now. This would mean that along with Michael Clarke – who is currently in Australia to tend to his fiancé Lara Bingle – there will be a batsman and a couple of bowlers who could be rested. These include the likes of Michael Hussey and even Shane Watson, the latter being involved as a batsman at the top and a bowler later.

The more important selection would probably be with the bowling, as the Aussies will look to rotate them around too. Ryan Harris has had an excellent run in the last few games that he has played and he has picked wickets by the plenty. In his place, Clint McKay who had made his debut in India last year, will come in, while Mitchell Johnson and Doug Bollinger will continue to remain in the side.

For New Zealand, the problem that they have faced in all the three games that they have lost is that the top of the order has not been able to survive the entire fifty overs. This has meant that the Kiwis have lost wickets consistently at whatever stage of the innings, and failed to get a move on after that. They have also had issues with injury and that has meant that guys like Jacob Oram, a fully-fit James Franklin and the captain himself have been missed.

Shanan Stewart did not have a great ODI debut, but he will look to make his second game count given that he should get a chance. Also, there is a good chance that Nathan McCullum may make it back to the side in place of the injured Franklin.
