As part of the deal that has the Cubs up for sale, there is a chance that Wrigley Field may be sold to the state of Illinois, as opposed to being part of the deal with the team.
To offset the cost of renovations to the stadium, the Tribune says naming rights to the stadium will be sold.
Sure, the stadium needs a lot of help (sitting under nets meant to catch falling concrete doesn't make you feel too safe), but I would think there would be some way to fund renovations other than changing the name of the stadium.
Maybe they should just increase the price of beer by a dollar. 5 games worth of bleacher seat sales of Old Style should be enough to fund any renovations needed.
