Notre Dame might decline a bowl invitation this year, after Charlie Weis firing

I think most non-Notre Dame fans would agree that this year, Notre Dame probably doesn't deserve to grace our televisions once again in a bowl game this year. 12 times on national television this year was MORE than enough. Apparently athletic director Jack Swarbrick feels the same way.

According to reports, it looks like Notre Dame will decline a likely bowl invitation from either the Little Ceasars Pizza Bowl or the GMAC Bowl. This could cost the school a couple dollars that they would have made by playing in the game, but that's really not the issue. Money is no object at Notre Dame, and obviously they feel like they have more important things to worry about right now... and they do.

However, I do feel like this decision is a bit unfair to the ND seniors. They've played 4 years under Charlie Weis, and for many of them, this is their last chance to play in a bowl game. Even if they had some less than stellar results, I'm pretty sure they played their hearts out for the school, and it's a little bit of a slap in the face to them, for the school to not allow them to play in a bowl game.
