Ohio State president claims college football playoff is not a popular idea

It's mind boggling, really, but Ohio State president Dr. E. Gordon Gee claims that the idea of a college football playoff is pretty much the worst idea ever, and no one at all is interested in it. I'm not sure where he's getting his information, but here's what he has to say about it:

"I know how Ohio State fans would respond to it, they would be absolutely outraged. And I know how I would respond, I'd be very unhappy. But in the end I am accepting the possibility that some of those kinds of things could happen. There is an elegance to the mystery, but I think by and large, the BCS does work and has worked very well and I'm in favor of it continuing exactly the way it is."

There's no doubt that Ohio State has actually benefited from the system overall, but most OSU fans that I've seen are STILL in support of a playoff system. In fact, a playoff system seems to be the near-unanimous choice among ALL fans.

I wish they would just be honest and say "we're making money hand over fist, and we're scared to change that", instead of trying to make things up.
