Oklahoma State's Dez Bryant Suspended For Rest Of The Season
The Hammer Drops On Dez Bryant
For Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant, visiting Deion Sanders wasn't an NCAA violation. But lying to the NCAA about it was and today it was announced he would be suspended for the remainder of the season as punishment. OSU has announced they will appeal.

Now I'm as big an Oklahoma Sooners fan as you'll find, but frankly, I think the kid got hosed big time...

The NCAA is a power hungry fascist organization with no one to answer to. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely

Or the Bucs. Or whoever finishes with zero wins. Possibly three teams. Damn that's sad.

For the rest of the season is harsh. Tough luck kid, go make your money next year. The opportunity will be there for you.

LaGarrette Blount will soon be back on the field and Dez Bryant is done for having a conversation.  Logic is not the NCAA's strength.

The NCAA punishes Bryant yet these coaches like John Calipari, are so crooked every final four appearance he has had, has been vacated from 2 different schools.  No suspension for him though.

That is a bit harsh.   I hope the appeal yields better results....

Very harsh punishment, but he did tell a lie.  Right, wrong or indifferent, he did it to himself.  Now the fact that the NCAA says visiting with Deion was not a violation leads me to ask why the NCAA was worried about it to begin with?

The NCAA lies all the time. Everytime they say the word "BCS" they're telling a lie. We all know the "C" in BCS is silent.

I've said this all along, this has more to do with Andy Oliver and the NCAA hatred of OSU. A peasant had the audacity to stand up to them so there will be retribution. Really, lying about something that is not an infraction and being suspended for the year? What about this: http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/mobileregister/index.ssf?/base/sports/125205580579940.xml&coll=3

Harris even lied about the laptop when asked. What did he get? 6 games. This is about hurting OSU's chances at a championship. Kiper says Dez will be the first WR taken (top 10). Maybe now this is done the NCAA can finally get around to the USC Reggie bush issue.......

OSU wasn't going to win anything anyway. Just grab your things and go to the NFL young man.

Ummm..... yeah... they lost to Houston. They weren't going anywhere this year. They certainly wouldn't have been able to compete with Texas this year.

Does it matter? If you can't beat Houston, no matter what they are ranked, then you aren't going anywhere. And if you needed any more proof of how weak OSU is compared to the elite teams in the NCAA, Texas just gave it to you on Saturday.

So explain to me then, how a 3 loss oklahoma team is ranked if who you lost to doesn't matter. Your logic validates my point, USC is not an elite team (Wash), thank you. Of course anything about football coming from a niner fan should be taken with a grain of salt, huh.

I won't even try to give logic or credit to the voters, because the voters are stupid. What you see on the field is what you need to see, i.e. OSU sucks compared to the major players in the NCAA this year. USC is not an elite team, I never said they were so I'm not sure where that is coming from.
