Yesterday, Frankie shared with us the Bulls' decision not to offer a long-term contract to Tyrus Thomas. Thomas has struggled with the kind of professionalism necessary to be an NBA player; his talent surely exceeds his desire to be great.
I am not surpised that today, 24 hours after the Bulls shunned Thomas, he left practice with flu-like symptoms. It's possible that in the midst of this devastating flu-season, Thomas is really sick. The timing is a little shady, however. In terms of perception, it seems fair to question Thomas' motives.
I think it is just as possible that Tyrus Thomas has the 'blue-flu' today, and that's why he is who he is. He was a cancer on Scott Skiles teams and Thomas has now become Vinny Del-Negro's problem. If Tyrus is to maximize his potential, it probably won't happen in Chicago. I'm okay with that. What do you think?
