Oregon beats USC 47-20
Oregon crushes USC. So will they pass Boise State in the rankings?
Well, USC went into Autzen Stadium tonight in Oregon, and they got absolutely trucked by an Oregon team that looked like it could have put a boot in the ass of any team in the country with the way they played.

Oregon racked up a ridiculous 613 yards of offense, nearly 400 of it on the ground. We all know USC isn't as good this year as they have been in the past, but still. This was a "take 'em out to the woodshed" kind of game.

The big question now is how far will Oregon climb in the rankings? There's some thought they might jump Boise State, who beat Oregon to start the season.

Now, while Boise State did beat Oregon, Boise State sure as hell didn't face the Oregon team that ran over USC on Saturday night. But that's irrelevant. Or maybe it isn't, depending on the voters.

The fact is Boise State's one difficult game so far has been against Oregon. Their other non-conference games have come against such mighty foes as Miami (OH), Tulsa and UC Davis. UC Davis? You've gotta be kidding me.

I'm not quite sure how I'd vote, but I'll admit Boise State's non-conference schedule looks like crap besides that game against Oregon. And since we all know the WAC is a joke, I really would have liked to have seen Boise State play one more tough opponent.

But by early afternoon tomorrow, we'll have the polls, then we can bitch and moan some more! Should be fun.

What about Texas? Ok State beat Georgia by 17, and Texas was ahead by 34 WITH 10 MINUTES LEFT IN THE FOURTH QUARTER, while Florida only beat Georgia by 31. That would make Texas 20 points better than Florida.
I can see Texas jumping Alabama but no way they'll jump over Florida.  The Gators will only drop if they lose a game

I would love to see Oregon jump Boise State in the polls, but I don't see it happening.  Boise State has a better name than Oregon even though they both have the same record in BCS games (1-0).

I would absolutely love to see Oregon and Boise State matched up again in a BCS game.... I don't think the Broncos would stand a chance playing against the team that just steamrolled USC!!!

But Boise State only has Oregon on their resume to go along with the FCS worthy WAC, while Oregon has since beat #12 Utah (and snapped the nations longest winning streak), a #6 Cal and a #5 USC.  Boise State will only play one team that's ranked this season, and Oregon was only ranked 19 at the time.  It's unlikely that Oregon will jump them, but not impossible.

Yeah Oregon will pass BSU... because the system is wack and most of the voters are morons.

Just waiting to hear Mark May explain to us how USC still has a shot to play for the MNC!

WOW!  It absolutely amazes me that anyone could rationalize a one loss team being ranked above an undefeated team that beat them soundly... You have to use some mighty crooked numbers to come up with such a conclusion.

USC is not a good team at all, the voting among the AP is so Biased and the Computers love BCS schools. Cal...they choked, they didn't deserve that 6 by their name. The Broncos have the #1 QB in passer efficiency and the #3 top-scoring offense in the nation. Say all you want about who they play, they didn't just beat Oregon they humiliated Oregon, Oregon couldn't get a first down until the 3rd quarter. Blount who was one of the best RB's in the nation coming into the season wasn't a factor. That's 2 years in a row Boise beat Oregon. I'm still waiting for the nation to realize Boise's one of the top 25 toughest places to play.

It doesn't matter what happens with Texas.  Bama and Florida will figure itself out in the SEC championship.  Texas won the BIG XII south last night, and now (barring a let down game) its smooth sailing to the NC.

Boise's only quality win was a home win against an Oregon team that was playing terrible at the start of the season. Remember that the Ducks also almost lost to Purdue at home the following week.| They simply were not that good of a team at the start of the season. It is a slap in the face to all the programs that have to get up for games week after week, and play top notch competition, to have a Boise team ride one victory and essentially 10 byes to a BCS game.

Unlikely season for the Trojans......their defense is young and they suck!

Oregon humiliated themselves..... when you can only score 19 points and beat a team by 11, it's impossible to humiliate the other team. I'm hoping that Boise State and Oregon get matched up again in a BCS game because I don't think that Boise would stand a chance against the Ducks right now. And if you want more credit, you need to get out of a league that has teams like Idaho, San Jose State, New Mexico State, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana Tech and Utah State and stop playing teams like UC-Davis, Bowling Green and Miami (OH) for your other non-con games. Plain and simple, Oregon has games against 6, possibly 7 ranked teams (we'll see where the Beavs end up at the end of the season) while Boise only plays 1. Regardless of how good or bad USC or Cal are perceived, a 47-20 win over USC is better than a 51-34 win over Fresno State and a 42-0 win over Cal is better than a 45-7 win over San Jose State. So it isn't impossible to think that Oregon could jump Boise in the polls, I hope that they don't because I respect the hell out of your program but it's hard to make a case for Boise when you compare the schedules. I'm still waiting for the nation to realize that Oregon's one of the Top 5 toughest places to play!!
