Pedro Martinez has Tuesday physical with the Philadelphia Phillies, can then join club
Pedro Martinez is a Tuesday physical away from becoming a member of the Phillies. Knowing Pedro, there's a 40% chance he fails it.
The only standing in Pedro Martinez's way of becoming a member of the Phillies is a Tuesday physical. Pedro is expected to be in Philadelphia tonight, take the physical tomorrow, and then he'll likely be introduced on Wednesday.

A report from the Dominican last week had Martinez agreeing to a $4 million deal with the Phillies, but that is believed to be a prorated figure, at best.

What do you think of Pedro's likely addition to the Phillies? They definitely need pitching, but Pedro is a shell of his former self these days.

It's worth a shot.  I don't think the Phillies can beat the Dodgers this year, but there's a long way to go.

he should pass the physical with no problems...he has always been such a picture of health.

If Pedro fails his physical, don't be surprised the Phillies land Halladay in a trade.

Signing Pedro is a liablity given his age & the mere fact that he can't pitch beyond five innings.

He passed his physical and we shall see what happens. I hope they do not offer him too much because we have some young guys in the minors that should get an opportunity to pitch in Sept. They're Kyle Drabek, Carlos Carasco, & Joe Savery.
