Brad Keselowski made it clear that he was coming into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to make a difference at Penske Racing, and would put the association with Dale Earnhardt Jr in the past.  He told the press that he was committed to Penske and moving forward.

Unfortunately, it seems that penske hasn't taken this assertion as seriously.  Jay Guy, formerly of Furniture Row Racing has been hired as Crew Chief for Keselowski.  Now before you jump all over me, just take a look at the man's record.  The most successful driver he has worked with recenlty is Jamie McMurray.  Yes,  he worked with the Wood Brothers, icons of the sport, but that was several years ago, and honestly, if he had the kind of talent it takes to be a really successful Crew Chief in the Sprint Cup Series, he wuuld have been associated with more successful teams than Casey Atwood, Kenny Wallace and most recently, Start and Park driver, Joe Nemechek.

I mean no disrespect to Jay Guy, honestly, but as a fan of Brad Keselowski, I  had hopes that a a crew chief with a little more top tier experience would be hired for Brad as he makes his full time start in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  Jay has experience with running in the back of the Sprint Cup Series, and although his experience includes both Nationwide and Truck Series and running up front in those series, it is the Sprint Cup Series he will be competing in.

Truthfully, I hope that Jay and Brad will be a good mix and will be successful. I'm just not holding my breath.
