Blog Photo - Phil Mickelson headlines players who don't make the cut at the MastersThe Master is, perhaps, the one golf tournament that everyone recognizes.  Even if you think golf is about as exciting as watching paint dry, you have heard of the Masters.  You might even know that the winner of the tournament receives not only a trophy and a pile of money, but a famous green jacket. A few players have won more than one, but it is a daunting course to play.

This year, the players who have failed to make the cut is a list of very famous names.  Phil Mickelson is probably the most recognized player who will not be seen in the coming days, but he is joined by Ernie Els, Luke Donald, Sergio Garcia, and a handful of former winners, such as Trevor Immelman, Ben Crenshaw, and Angel Cabrera.

The good news is, it will still be a close tournament.  Bubba Watson is still in the game, playing one hole at a time, not looking ahead, and not letting his brain work too hard.  He is on top of the leaderboard.  Other players still in the game are Fred Couples, Mike Weir, Vijay Singh, and Bernhard Langer.

Competition continues through the weekend with the finale expected late Sunday afternoon.
