Phillies still undecided on signing Cliff Lee
The Phillies still haven't decided on Cliff Lee's extension. But since Ruben Amaro is no idiot, expect it to happen soon.
As of last night before Game 6, Ruben Amaro said the Phillies had not yet made a decision on picking up Cliff Lee's $9M club option for 2010:

"Clearly, it's on our minds, but we haven't made a decision if we will yet. Naturally, you have to think about it, but we're more focused on him pitching in this series."

Now that the game and the series are over, I'm willing to go out on a limb here and say that there is a 100% chance that Cliff Lee will be pitching for the Phillies next year. Whether Amaro picks up the option, or decides to offer him a lucrative extension beyond next year, there's no way he'll just let him walk right now.

Amaro has made many excellent moves during his time with the Phillies, and this will be another one, when it eventually happens.

Lets see if the Phill's can do what the Brewers couldnt. Resign a pitcher that they gave up alot to get.

The Phillies should lock up Lee. Lee was excellent for them in the World Series. He deserves that extension.

Cliff Lee is more than welcome in the Motor city.

Just keep him in Philly.  Do a 7-year, $87.5 million contract.  That tells him that you are ready to keep him there and as your ace.  Go Phils!!!

Too long, and not enough money. That's not an "ace" contract.

Still, give him a ridiculous amount of money for way too long.  Everybody is happy and I really do not know how much he's worth.

I can't imagine Amaro and the brass not offering a hefty contract to him.  That would take a lot of the pressure off of Hamels, Happ, and Drabek.  He's too good not to covet and was completely unreal this post-season.

This is a no-brainer!

Not a Phillies fan, but I think if they don't keep Lee they are not the brightest bunch.  I know my Mets could use a guy like that.
