Plaxico Burress negotiating with teams to play in 2009

Since Plaxico Burress won't go to trial until after the 2009 season, he's already negotiating with teams to play this year.

Since Plaxico Burress won't go to trial on his gun charge until sometime in 2010, he's negotiating with teams to play this season. This is despite the fact that Goodell could possibly suspend him for several games.

Burress’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, posted on Twitter Monday that he hopes to have a deal with an NFL team for Burress before training camp starts, and said he’s confident the NFL won’t have grounds to discipline Burress until after his case is processed in court.

The team that has expressed the most interest in Plax is the Jets. The Bears have also made it very clear they're interesting in him as well.

1	good move Drew - it's always smart to say publicly that the NFL has no grounds to discipline your client...that is asking for trouble.

1	Usually, I would not want my Bears to touch a buffoon like Plax. However, we desperately need a #1 receiver and I'd take a flyer on him for one year. Come on Angelo, get this done!

1	If I were the Browns GM, I'd pick up Plax. That way he'll compete with Braylon "Mr. Drop the Ball" Edwards for the job.

Granted, Plax is/was a hell of a receiver - being from Pgh I've seen him in action first hand. But the fact that he handled a LOADED gun in a damn night club where even his own judgement was probably impaired by alcohol only proves that he's incapable of making rational decisions off the field, so with that being said, what team owner in their right mind would be willing to put their team in such a negative spotlight when/if Plax excercises his ignorance again??? Guns & Alcohol NEVER mix, even a blind man can see that a mile away, yet 1 of the healthiest receivers in the NFL had to shoot himself in the leg to figure it out!!! Nice knowin' ya Plax

1	I think that any team that picks up Plax would be committing suicide. I agree with Strazz - Plax is incapable of making a rational decision. This is what I am saying about the justice system. Michael Vick has done is time and no one wants to pick him up. Plax although he has not gone to trial is a criminal and has not served his time. Look at the teams that want to pick him up. I am just floored.
