CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Kareem Maddox had 14 points and eight rebounds, making a pair of free throws with 11 seconds left to lead Princeton to a 56-53 victory over Harvard on Friday night and keep the Tigers unbeaten in the Ivy League.

Harvard star Jeremy Lin scored 19 points, but he struggled to get open for the last shot and heaved a 35-footer at the buzzer that bounced off the front of the rim.

Princeton (12-5, 3-0) kept pace with front-runner Cornell in the race for the conference title. Cornell visits Princeton on Feb. 13.

Harvard (14-5, 3-2) had been expected to compete for an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament but has now lost to Cornell and Princeton in back-to-back games.

Princeton led by 14 points with 4:55 left, but Harvard came within one when Dan Mavraides fouled Christian Webster during a made 3-pointer with 11.7 seconds left. Webster hit the free throw to make it 54-53.
