What do you do with a point guard who is good at everything except shooting? Throw him in the HORSE competition, of course.

The NBA 's HORSE competition is pretty much a joke, and this year it should be even more so. It looks like the league is trying to set up Kevin Durant with an easy win, by putting in at least one guy who just plain can not shoot well at all.

Rajon Rondo is one of the best point guards in the league, but he has one weakness: He can't shoot.

I'm as big a fan as anyone, but Rondo has never been a good shooter. So why put him in the HORSE competition? Kevin Durant won last year, and he'll be in it again, and Omri Casspi is also competing. I'm guessing Rondo gets knocked out pretty quick. All they'd need to do is sit at the free throw line, since he's only a 62.6% shooter from the charity stripe.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't see this ending well for young Rajon.

0	(Edited by kantwistaye) You don't necessarily have to be a good shooter to win HORSE since majority of these shots would never be taken in a real game. I've won many more games of HORSE than I should.

0	Durant should have pulled double duty on All Star Saturday. Blow these two guys out in the horse competition and then go across the parking lot and win the 3 point shootout later that same night.

Scal is a better shooter than Rondo, and since he spends most of his time on the bench, I bet he has come up with some pretty creative shots in his spare time. I bet he'd do pretty well.

0	(Edited by atomb7) Ok, I can understand casspi and durant in a shooting contest but rondo....the man is a great point guard but he is far from a good shooter. Rondo is better off in the skills challenge. This is almost as bad as tmac getting voted in the all-star game as a starter, he couldn't even start on his own team let alone get some time off the bench.
