Rajon Rondo still has no contract extension, but the way he's playing, this could get expensive for the Celtics

Rajon Rondo was the Celtics' best player in the playoffs last year, as they dealt with the loss of Kevin Garnett. Now, he's in the last year of his contract, and has been pushing for a new deal from the Celtics for a while. The Celtics have been gun-shy about giving a lot of money to such a young player, but it looks like he's just getting more and more expensive as time goes on.

So far, he's picking up in the preseason where he left off in the playoffs, where he nearly averaged a triple-double. He's a lock-down defender, his speed is nearly unparalleled, and he is one of the best rebounding point guards in the league. His shooting is still suspect, but he also drives the lane with the best of them.

The Celtics should get this deal done sooner rather than later, because I have a feeling his stock is going nowhere but up.

Honestly? I can understand if you want to say he's overrated. I understand if you wanna say he's a product of his teammates. But below average? That's where I draw the line.

0	The Celtics don't want to look as dumb as the Suns did when they gave this guy away as a draft pick for cash. He avereges almost a triple double a game and plays great D, pay the man!

0	I would take this guy on the Bulls in a heartbeat. He's a borderline dirty player, but I also think he's a winner. Give me the edgy guy that can help my team win a ring instead of the choir boy that will freak out in the playoffs.

He was only there for one year before the Big 3 came together, and he was a rookie, was backing up Delonte West. When you say "everyone wanted him gone", who are you talking about? Where are you getting this information?
